Drawing, painting and creating have been part of my life as long as I can remember, even through the years when work and family took centre stage, that creative part of me was always there. Returning to it more fully felt less like starting something new and more like finding my way back to something that had always mattered.

Hannie Art Studio grew naturally from that reconnection — a way to give the work a place to live, evolve and reach beyond the studio.

My work begins with original watercolour and is shaped by flowers, natural forms, colour, movement and the small details that give something personality. I am drawn to the balance between looseness and intention — allowing the paint to lead, then building character through line, dots, texture and detail.

Over time. the work has evolved into greeting cards, paper goods, nursery art and decorative florals for meaningful gatherings. The forms may be different but the purpose underneath them is the same.

I’ve come to believe that art can be a small but meaningful way for people to connect.

A greeting card can carry the words someone most wants to say. A floral at a place setting can help a guest feel their place was prepared especially for them. A thoughtful paper detail can become part of a gift, a celebration or a memory.
